Restorations and Bonding

Dental restorations are placed to restore the function, integrity, and morphology of missing tooth structure.  Tooth structure loss commonly occurs from caries or external trauma.  Dental restorations are also used to improve the appearance of a tooth.
Bonding is a simple and cost effective cosmetic dental procedure.  Composite resin used in bonding can be shaped and polished to improve color, shape, and even close gaps between teeth.

Veneers

Veneers are thin, custom-made shells that attach directly to the tooth surface.  They can be used to fix gaps between teeth or improve the appearance of teeth that are badly stained, misshapen or out of alignment.

Crowns

A crown protects the natural tooth structure of a tooth if it has a large filling or fracture line.  The tooth is prepared and a customized permanent crown is fabricated in the laboratory to look and fit like the natural tooth.

Bridges

A bridge is a fixed dental restoration used to replace a missing tooth (or several teeth) by joining an artificial tooth permanently to adjacent teeth or implants.  A bridge is fabricated by reducing the teeth on either side of the missing tooth or teeth.

Implant crowns

Dental implants are often an excellent treatment option for missing teeth.  After a damaged or decayed tooth is removed, a dental implant is placed in the jawbone so that it can fuse with your natural bone.  Implants can be used to replace an individual tooth or multiple teeth. For a single tooth implant, the implant crown is customized to blend in with your other teeth and attaches to the implant post.  Implant-supported bridges or dentures also are made to fit your mouth and your implants. Once the implant crown, bridge, or denture is fabricated, they are attached to the implant posts.

Dentures and Partial Dentures

A denture is a removable prosthesis used to replace missing teeth and surrounding tissues. Two types of dentures are available -- complete and partial dentures. Complete dentures are used when all the teeth are missing, while partial dentures are used when some natural teeth remain.  Dentures may even improve your smile and fill out your facial appearance.

Whitening

Impressions are taken to make custom trays that keep the whitening solution firmly on tooth surface.  These customized trays prevent exposure of the gingiva to whitening solution.  Professional take-home teeth whitening kits provide results in 1 to 2 weeks of prescribed use.

Sealants

Dental sealant is a thin coating painted on the chewing surfaces of teeth to prevent tooth decay.  The sealant quickly bonds into the depressions and grooves of the teeth, forming a protective shield.

Cleaning

The Academy of General Dentistry strongly recommends that a dentist or hygienist perform a dental cleaning every six months to remove plaque, staining, and other unwanted deposits. This professional dental cleaning reinforces the home-care oral health regimen of brushing and flossing and gives the dentist an opportunity to locate areas in the mouth that may need special attention.
